If These Floors Could Talk…Paint Edition
/Hello Darling,
After spending a few weeks using the “Green Room” for photo ops & vlogging for #yourbabefriday , I decided painting the room has to happen, finally. We’ve talked about painting this room since we did the first walk-through in 2018. The bright green is just a little too green for my palette and ultimately, I want something more toned down that will be easy to pair and decorate with over time.

I grabbed some sample cards from my local Lowe’s and have been debating between shades of grey for a few weeks. I always love a new color that isn’t too tan or white when trying to find a neutral. When we decided to place an offer on the house and it was accepted, I was so excited to repaint the top three spaces (living room, dining room, hallways). Before we even closed, I picked up a few different palette books from our local (at the time) Home Depot, which primarily was the Behr brand.
I chose to paint the hallways a subtle grey with blue undertones (see color here). our living room a beautiful deep blue (see color here) and our dining room a soft lilac (see color here), all custom mixed Valspar paints inspired by the Behr Marquee and Grays collections from 2018.
This time around, we stuck with our closest option, Lowe’s. We compared Sherwin-Williams to Valspar and landed on the color Polished Silver by Valspar. We went with an eggshell finish since it’ll be used in the bedroom.
I won’t get to tackle the painting part of this project until the end of December but I’ll be sure to share an updated photo of the end results!
Until Next Time,
M.E.
